Usually, I eschew drama, because I didn’t always have Great Expectations for my dating life. Get this, this morning I broke my resolution and smoked two packs of cigarettes. On a weekend that comes from being alone, duh! Yeah, I did it. Does that tell you anything? Well, that’s when I seriously thought about meeting new singles in Denver or Dallas.

Easy solution. I’ll meet new singles thru Great Expectations Denver. Probably never sounded better. The reason I mention my dating woes: I was at George’s graduation at Oak Park yesterday, Mom wouldn’t get off my back about if I’ve met my true love. They always bring this up, every year. I laughed and spit out, “I’m working on it, chill out.”

There’s nowhere to hide when The Old Tooter (aka: grandpa) opining on the topic of my personal matters. I said to the whole group: “Seriously, my romantic destiny is right over there!”

You know what? No one knew what I was talking about, as usual. Irritated, I went to the gym because the dating pressure was too much. That didn’t help! Nothing was helping and I needed some damn help. Chuck, who was a fellow Ram in high school (go Rams!) suggested that I enroll in Great Expectations. I said, “You know, that’s a good idea.” Should have thought of it myself. I can speak highly of Great Expectations Denver.

When I started, singles events and mixers were a novel thing as I am a simple guy. I’d never done anything like this before, and I was speechless at first. This emotional anxiety couldn’t put an end to a great time. The night was bursting with excitement. The truth is I’ll never forget all the other members, some who are my new friends.

It wasn’t long before I was regularly mingling at these glorious singles events in Dallas, I ran into a handful of marvelous guys and gals who clearly feel as excited as I am for how dating should be done. Can’t imagine why I used to let everyone get me down about me not dating. Wonderfully enough, matchmaking the Great Expectations way is enjoyable and just what I’ve been looking for.
